parisParis is the capital of fashion and since MODESIGN ACADEMY’s Director studied at the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris and worked there several years, it seemed logical to organise a one week Summer Classes in Fashion/Design/Perfume and Luxury Management in this city.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CONTENT

  • RETAIL/ Monday

The morning will take place at the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) where Adeline Cabale, alumni from the IFM, will introduce you to what retail is and give you a view on the lasted trends in the field.

In the afternoon, she will make a guided tour with you at Galeries Lafayettes and Printemps. She will introduce you to people working within those 2 big department store and you will train yourself with practical exercices on the field.

  • LUXURY AND DESIGNERS BRANDS/Tuesday

Paris is the capital of luxury, so the best place to start that day is Avenue Montaigne and Rue François 1er where all the luxury brand have their flagship store. You will visit some of them and especially the Christian Dior one which celebrates the 70th anniversary of the brand.

Paris is also the capital of influencial multibrand stores such as Colette or Merci. Adeline Cabale will take you in a “Must-See” guided tour of those shops that spot the trends before the others or just make them!

  • PERFUME/ Wednesday

Perfume is another speciality of Paris and you will visit the brand new Grand Musée du Parfum in the morning which is settled in the former house of Couturier Christian Lacroix.

In the afternoon, time to practice with the Perfumer Louison Crajcar at l’Académie du Parfum. He will introduce you the world of perfume with an interactive workshop.

  • COMPANIES/Thursday

In exclusivity for us, the Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter féminin  opens its door the unveil what are their tools to support brands and emerging brands.

In the afternoon, you will visit selected ateliers in Paris to see what is the reality behind the curtains.

  • HISTORY OF FASHION/ Friday

In the morning, the Fashion Historian Lydia Kamitsis will tell you all about Paris as the Capital of Fashion for the last two centuries and how it has always been a city welcoming the talents all over the world. The classe will take place at the IFM.

To conclude this week, you will visit with her the exhibition celebrating the 70 years of the brand Dior at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

TEACHING METHODS

This mix of theory, visits, workshops and encounters proves to be very efficient to maxime your learning process.

 

PARTICIPANTS

The program is open to anyone interested in fashion management wether you are a student or a professional and wathever your background.

 

LANGUAGE 

English is the language spoken during the 5 days. Any knowledge of French is of course an asset.

850 euros wich does not include transport, accomodation and meals.
