Certificate in Luxury Management

 

The luxury sector is a specific market with succinct needs at every stage of the product’s life. Discover the “behind the scenes” techniques and learn how to practice them with our team of experts.

CONTENT

The certificate is divided in 2 :

1. Evening Classes with Ingrid Plater, Isabelle Bourne, Marine Halna du Fretay and a team of Belgian and international experts

The classes aims to cover all the aspects linked to management of a luxury brand : brand management, production, sales, communication, marketing and retail to be applied to fashion, perfume, leather-goods, jewellery and gastronomy.

Those specific markets have succint needs at every stage of the product’s life. Discover the “behind the scenes techniques” and learn how to practice them.

2. Saturday workshops with Nina Bodenhorst and Pauline Miko

You will learn how to make your own bag that will be displayed during MODESIGN ACADEMY Pop-Up Store in September 2018 as well as your own professional pictures.

 

METHODOLOGY

  • Theoretical aspects: all the brand management aspects are explained on a theoretical level – the brand, the collection plan, the distribution, marketing, communication, retail and legal aspects.
  • Experience sharing: our team of experienced Belgian and international experts share their knowledge and know-how in their specific field of
  • Case study: individual or team research and projects.
  • Practical workshop with Brussels leather maker Nina Bodenhorst to create a bag and with Photographer Pauline Miko to make your pictures.

 

OUTCOMES

  • To know the main luxury companies and groups.
  • To understand the Brand Management specifically to the luxury sector
  • To elaborate a mini-collection plan and its mood-boards
  • To integrate technical specifics, linked to a luxury production
  • To have a global view of the channels of distribution
  • To conceive a marketing and a communication plan
  • To acquire the “Quality” and “Service” reflex in the client relationship
  • To create and realise a leather bag, integrating techniques linked with luxury
  • To participate to the MODESIGN ACADEMY Pop-Up Store #3  in Septemeber 2018 and to organise your own event during the Pop-up.
  • To built your network within the sector

 

COORDINATION

We gathered 5 women from Paris and Brussels having a long experience in the luxury sector to share their experience and to teach you their know-how.

Ingrid Plater : she worked for Hermès, Yves Saint-Laurent of Alain Mikli in Paris before launching her consulting agency in communication. She is now a teaching at MODESIGN ACADEMY

Isabelle Bourne : she worked for Azzedine Alaïa, Chanel and Dior before being the Director of Balenciaga, working with Nicolas Ghesquiere. She has now her own bag’s brand.

Marine Halna du Fretay : she managed the studio of Hermès and worked with Martin Margiela and Jean-Paul Gaultier. She designs now collection for high-end ready to wear, textile and is involved in the world of gastronomy.

Nina Bodenhorst : she worked for Delvaux and Nathan-Baume before lauching her own product & design studio : Niyona. She develops bespoke fine leather goods in her workshop in the center of Brussels and has been awarded best craftsman of the year 2016.

Pauline Miko : working as a photographer for a few years now, she has a talent to reveal products and people’s characteristics. All the pictures of this website site (pictures in studio and outside) are made by her.

REQUIREMENT

This program is for anyone interested in learning more about the luxury field; students, professionals in the field, professionals from other fields or entrepreneurs.

SCHEDULE, DATES, LOCATION

Every Wednesday evening – January 10th to June 27th 2018 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm @ MODESIGN ACADEMY, 48, rue de Stassart, 1050 Bruxelles.

2 Saturdays between April and June from 9.30am to 1.30pm @ NYONA, Rue de Laeken 86, 1000 Bruxelles.

The program is in English and there are no prerequisites

Deadline to register is  November 25.  Just click at “Applys for a program” on our frontpage.

The fee is 2350 euros (workshop included but not the fabric used for the bag). The total amount has to be paid before the beginning of the program

IMPORTANT for entrepreneurs : if you are based in Brussels and have a VAT number there might be a possibility to have 50% refunded by the local authorities. Contact us for more info. Dominique Gringroire, Graduate 2017, wh used this system will also share her experience dealing with the procedure.
